Tower and Jazz Semiconductor Announce Call for Papers for 2009 Analog-Intensive Mixed-Signal Circuits, Applications, and Technology (AIMS-CAT) Conference
MIGDAL HAEMEK, Israel and NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 13, 2009 - Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (NASDAQ: TSEM, TASE: TSEM), an independent specialty foundry, and its fully owned U.S. subsidiary Jazz Semiconductor, Inc., today announced the Call for Papers for its 2009 Analog-Intensive Mixed-Signal Circuits, Applications, and Technology (AIMS-CAT) Conference. This focused one-day event, set for November 5, will be held at the Jazz Headquarters in Newport Beach, CA in conjunction with the annual Jazz and Tower Conference (JaTc). The AIMS-CAT conference will bring together a wide range of technical professionals in leading edge companies from around the world focused on the latest advances in Silicon Germanium (SiGe), RF CMOS, Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS (BCD), and CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) process technologies.
"As the global leader of the fast growing, analog-intensive, specialty foundry market, Tower/Jazz provides a platform with the AIMS-CAT conference which affords our customers a valuable opportunity to share their innovations, technical challenges and success stories with their peers, potential partners and other industry leaders. It also provides our customers and potential customers an opportunity to learn more about the full scope of our specialty technologies and design enablement services unique to our company," said Russell Ellwanger, CEO of Tower Semiconductor and Jazz Semiconductor Chairman. "In the past, the innovation-based, open atmosphere of the conference has led to increased alignment for us with other leading companies. We look forward to advancing the interest of our customers through the upcoming event."
This year's conference is focused on the central theme of "Stimulus for Success: Specialty Solutions Enable Customer Innovation." The event will include a list of key invited speakers as well as contributed talks and vendor exhibits. All participants will have an opportunity to meet with top executives and technical professionals in the semiconductor industry. In addition, all attendees will be able to experience the latest from tool and IP providers, design companies, and post wafers service companies.
"The opportunity to present our work using Jazz's 0.18-micron SiGe BiCMOS process at last year's conference was valuable in sharing the advancements we've made in the development of microwave and millimeter-wave phased arrays for application areas such as satellite communications, defense systems, imaging systems, and automotive radars," said Dr. Gabriel Rebeiz, Professor, University of California, San Diego. "The information presented at the AIMSCAT conference encompassed various other topics that are relevant to all people in the design process and I look forward to attending this years conference to hear what others in the industry have to share."
Tower/Jazz is seeking proposals for papers focused on Analog-Intensive Mixed-Signal (AIMS) topics including advances in design methodology, system architecture, breakthrough IC demonstrations, test/package innovations, modeling and design enablement, and process technology. Application areas may include but are not limited to: Analog and RF Integration, Power Amplifiers and Front-End Modules, High Speed Analog and Millimeter-Wave, Optical Networking, Radar, Power Analog, MEMS, RFIC and CMOS Image Sensor technology.
Paper Submission Information
Interested participants should submit their abstract (no more than 100 words) and a presenter's
profile (50 words) as well as the name of the author/presenter and company, mailing address,
telephone/fax numbers, and e-mail address. Abstracts must be received no later than July 13,
